How Giving Birth Contrasts to The Giver
In English class we have been reading a book named The Giver, I was assigned to make a blog to compare the theme or a symbol in the book to something. I chose to compare the theme to that of a mother giving birth. The theme in The Giver was "There is no memory without pain, and there is no pain without memory." These both relate because when a mother has a baby there is lots of pain, but in the end it was way worth it. In The Giver Jonas wants to have the memories, but he also doesn't like the pain. The only way for Jonas to get the memories and have a better life is for him to go through the pain. In the end it was worth it for him to get the memories. In this picture, it shows how a mother loves a child.

This is a really good comparison because it shows that what Jonas did was worth it. I had never thought of it that way until now.
ReplyDeleteI really like your comparison. I, as Reagan stated above, had not thought of it that way until now. I also really liked the fact that you incorporated a quote into the paragraph.
